Welcome to Boom Boom Firearms Training Academy! 12-Hour Basic Training Course This course covers the new 17 Basic Training "Mandated" Objectives, outlined in new legislation under Senate Bill 760 (original effective date June 1, 2024) & Senate Bill 729 (new effective date of January 1, 2025), making it MANDATORY for "ALL" Security Guards in the State of Maryland, whether Armed or Unarmed, employed with a Security Guard Agency. We Offer: 1) Twelve (12) Hours INITIAL Basic Training Course 2) Eight (8) Hours RENEWAL (In-Service Training, when completed after June 1, 2024) **GUARD AGENCIES; WE WILL COME TO YOUR SITE TO PROVIDE THIS TRAINING AT YOUR CONVENIENCE, WITH A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE! Mandated 17 Objectives are as follows: SG1 -Identify the requirements for receiving and maintaining a SG cert in the State of MD SG2 -Identify the limitations to receiving and maintaining a SG cert in the State of MD SG3-Given various scenario, demonstrate the ability to identify elements of a given crime, using the annotated code of MD and/or the Digest of Criminal Laws SG4 -Identify the legal limits of a SG authority to arrest and/or detain SG5 -Define what constitutes Use of Force (UOF) SG6-Identify when UOF is authorized and prohibited SG7 -Identify the reporting requirements a SG must complete when force is used SG8-Identify the legal ramifications for SG and their employer when force is used SG9-Define what constitutes de-escalation SG10-Identify how time, distance, and cover can be used to de-escalate a situation SG11-Identify the role of communication in de-escalating a situation SG12-Identify the limitation and requirements for a SG carrying weapons SG13-Identify techniques that a SG may employ when encountering an individual in a crisis SG14-Identify techniques that a SG may employ when encountering an individual with a disability SG15-Identify techniques that a SG may employ when encountering a juvenile SG16-Identify techniques that a SG may employ when encountering an individual with behavior health concerns SG17-Identify techniques on how to seek aid for a person in need

ON-SITE/COURSE POLICY No Ammunition, nor Firearms, including concealed firearms are allowed on this facility, nor into the classroom, without advance approval -- which is a strict training environment. When permitted to bring firearms to class, Repeating, Do Not Bring Ammunition to class. All students will be required to read and sign a liability waiver prior to the start of class, for security reasons due to handling firearms. No Exceptions! The document will also include a Firearms Safety Briefing and Range Safety Briefing.
