***THE HANDGUN QUALIFICATION LICENSE IS REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A FIREARM FOR HOME PROTECTION

***THE WEAR AND CARRY IS REQUIRED TO CARRY A FIREARM FOR CONCEALED CARRY USE

Must be 21 Years or older to purchase firearm
Review Who Should Apply; Who is Exempt
Review Exceptions Prohibitions
Complete mandatory training requirement – take minimum 4-hour course from certified Maryland Firearms Instructor
Complete Fingerprint to conduct background check
Perform Operation and Handling Demonstration to include Live-Fire component
Complete online application with Maryland State Police - pay $50.00
If applicant qualifies, will receive Approval Letter via Email within 15-30 days
While awaiting approval or denial, applicant can contact Federal Firearm Licensee (FFI) in Maryland to become familiar with firearms purchase process
Upon approval, purchase firearm and contact FFL to complete the process
